Names: Hannah & Tiffany Meier

We were married (in the eyes of our loved ones) on August 21, 2011 at Lake Union Crew. We have been together officially just over 4 years, but were friends well before we became a couple. We are thrilled to have legal recognition of our marriage, and plan to have a small ceremony re-do on Saturday, December 15th. Thank you, Washington!

Finally, it is happening to us!

Reyes & NJ

We met 8 years ago; I, Reyes, a US Navy Sailor stationed onboard the USS Abraham Lincoln, and NJ, a recent high school graduated Canadian citizen living in Surrey, BC.  Shortly after we began our relationship, I was discovered by my command as being a gay male during a random network and email search, as I continued our relationship while on deployment as would any other human being.  I was 20 years old when I was kicked out of the Navy, and NJ was 18. Neither of us had a clue what to do in this situation because we were just kids. Too young to know just what to do. Then again, who would know what to do in this situation?  We had to make a choice; end the relationship and I would return to my hometown of Davis, CA, or take a chance on love.

Day in the life of equality

Marriage Equality: Last night Ross and I braved the cold weather to get a marriage license. As many know, marriage equality - not gay marriage was approved by the voters after the legislators wrote and approved the law. I have heard many people state over the years that gays and lesbians should be allowed to marriage because why should straight people be the only ones to suffer. The fuss, argument, and fight for marriage equality is not so much about being able to marry the one you love, but about humans caring for others by extending something that brings us all closer and building a greater commonality and community.

Finally!
Next month will mark our 23rd anniversary! We are both excited that we will finally be legal - Thursday morning we were couple #362 to get our marriage license. We will be married in City Hall in Seattle on Sunday, Dec. 9th. It is still surreal - to really be married! Thank you Washington voters and all of you that helped to make this a reality.

After 21 years of unwedded bliss, Claudia and I will finally be allowed to marry this Saturday at Lakewood Seward Park Community Club (with license signing 12:01am Sunday). Thank you Governor Chris Gregoire, Senator Ed Murray, Representative Jamie Pederson, King County Executive Dow Constantine, Washington United for Marriage, and especially the people of Washington state and the thousands of LGBT activists who’ve worked for lifetimes to make this possible. Dreams do come true!

Jayda planned a Vice President debate party where friends took sips of wine on key phrases and by the end of the night…Well let’s just say when Kim asked Jayda to the movies and an art walk in downtown Seattle in November 2008, they had fallen in love under the biggest, brightest moon they’d ever seen.
Kim and Jayda wedded before family and friends at Greens Landing overlooking Lake Chelan on Sept. 10, 2011.
Referendum 74 passed in November 2012 allowing marriage equality. So, Pastor Darrell Goodwin, who officiated their wedding, will sign their legal marriage certificate on Dec. 9, 2012.

Laughter in the Rain
Kate Hill and Mary Marlin (now officially Mary Hill!) met just over three years ago online. After almost two years of nonstop fun and travels, including a month of wining and dining throughout Italy, Mary proposed to Kate in May of 2011. They were married on a typical rainy Seattle day in an intimate outdoor ceremony of family and close friends at Treehouse Point near Fall City, WA on May 3, 2012. They will be having a small ceremony to make it official in February with two of their close friends officiating and maids-of-honor as witnesses. This has been an exciting year for them – along with the excitement of the passing of the marriage equality bill, Kate and Mary are expecting their first baby in May 2013!
